 I am an interventional and heart failure cardiologist who is passionate about getting good cardiovascular outcomes for my patients. I have a special interest in the radial approach, heart failure diagnosis and management and the management of treatment resistant hypertension. 

I have extensive clinical cardiology experience and undertook a Heart Failure & Transplant Fellowship at St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney: the premier hear failure/transplant unit in Australia. I completed further cardiology training at John Hunter Hospital, Newcastle. 

I was a Harvard Clinical Research Fellow at the prestigious Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Boston; and completed a 2 year interventional Cardiology & Peripheral Vascular Fellowship at the prestigious Lenox Hill Hospital, New York with Gary Roubin MD, PhD. I worked in clinical cardiology at Royal Darwin Hospital and as an Interventional Cardiologist in Hamilton, New Zealand. 

I enjoy engaging with GP’s to provide educational updates across many topics.

CAROL - Practice Manager

 I am a hospital trained Registered Nurse with over 30 years experience. After my first year of nursing at Royal Perth Hospital, mostly in the Cardiac Thoracic Unit.  I went to work at Hollywood Hospital in Nedlands whilst I completed my Bachelor of Nursing Science Degree at Edith Cowan University. 

In my 30 years at Hollywood Hospital, I have worked in various roles, both clinical and managerial over many surgical disciplines - including thoracic, vascular, general surgery & colo-rectal. I was also tasked with the role of setting up Hollywood's first Pre-Admission Screening RN's and the Day of Surgery Admission Unit.  During this time I also assumed responsibility for all hospital Admission staff and assisted with the introduction of new operating systems for patient bookings.  

For the last 12 years I returned to clinical work and was asked to join the Angiography Suite, where interventional cardiac and vascular procedures are performed. It continues to be one of my most challenging and rewarding roles.  

It is here that I met Dr Yuli Ten & have been working with her closely as a Cath Lab RN and now her Practice Manager.

 With a background in psychology, business management, events, sales and personal coaching, I enjoy variety in the work place and came to work for Dr Yuli Ten in 2023 when her private practice took off and she needed a second administrator.  

Working part-time for Dr Yuli Ten is ideal as it allows me to balance my family, personal and work life. I love helping people, taking an interest in their needs and like to think I show patience and empathy when dealing with people in their tough times. Dr Ten is a very talented and kind specialist and it is a pleasure to work with her. Carol and I make a great team, playing to our strengths and ensuring everyone who sees Dr Ten feels warmly welcomed.

When not at YT Cardiology I enjoy walking the dog, spending time with my family and friends, cooking/baking and working as a personal coach and hypnotist.
